Where Books
Meet Harbour

The Book Hotel is a new chapter for one of Ramsgate's most cherished buildings. Originally built in 1801, the Regency townhouse on Addington Street has been home to travellers for over two centuries.

Now it becomes something more — a destination where the love of books infuses everything. Browse the shelves of our independent bookshop, take a seat in the kitchen with a novel and a flat white, linger over a glass of wine as the harbour lights come on, or join an author event in our intimate reading room.

And when the evening draws in, retire upstairs to one of eight individually designed guest rooms, each inspired by literature and filled with carefully chosen books.

Stay for a night. Leave with a story.

Four Spaces, One Story

Each corner of The Book Hotel has its own character — but they all share the same spirit: a love of words, good company, and the pleasures of slowing down.

Books & Bar Night

Some evenings are made for slowing down.

Books & Bar Night is an evening where the shelves stay open after hours, the wine list comes out, and conversation finds its own unhurried pace. Browse the bookshop, glass in hand. Pull something from a shelf that catches your eye. Settle into a corner with a glass of wine and whatever calls to you.

There is no agenda, no panel, no programme — only the particular pleasure of being somewhere warm and bookish, in good company. These are evenings for readers, wanderers, and anyone who has ever felt that a bookshop, after dark, is one of the finest places to be.
