Our Heritage
Two Centuries of Warmth
First recorded as a public house in 1801, The Falstaff has stood watch over Ramsgate's West Cliff through storm and sunshine for over two hundred years. This Grade II listed building, nestled in the heart of the town's creative quarter on Addington Street, carries within its walls the spirit of a seaside town rich in character and history.
In 2013, The Falstaff was lovingly and sympathetically restored — preserving its Georgian bones while weaving in every modern comfort a discerning guest could wish for. Exposed timbers, original fireplaces, and artisan touches sit alongside contemporary amenities, creating a place that feels both timeless and entirely welcoming.
Just a short stroll brings you to the Royal Harbour — the only one in the United Kingdom — where fishing boats and yachts bob against a backdrop of Regency architecture and dramatic chalk cliffs.
